Asi Cymbal
Asi Cymbal is the Chairman of Cymbal DLT Companies.
Mr. Cymbal has over 30 years of experience in real estate development, construction, finance, and law.
He is driven by his passion for great architecture and design, his focus on transforming communities, and his commitment to creating great wealth for his investors.
He has been fortunate to work with the world’s best architects and designers (Philippe Starck, Bjarke Ingels, Enrique Norten, Jo Palma, Arquitectonica) as a first mover in neighborhoods at a critical time in their transition (the Financial District in Manhattan, Tribeca, SOHO, the Miami Design District, Midtown Miami, Downtown Fort Lauderdale, Dania Beach, Miami Gardens).
Mr. Cymbal is grateful to his investors and proud of the fact that he has rewarded them with unmatched returns.
Mr. Cymbal raised his first fund in 2010. That $3 million investment is now worth over $180 million. He is focused on increasing that to $700 million by 2026.
After experimenting with retirement in 2014, he came back to create a second fund during the 2020 Pandemic. He turned that $15 million investment into $90 million in 20 months.
Mr. Cymbal is currently raising a $100 million evergreen fund to be deployed into the $2 billion Cymbal DLT pipeline.
Mr. Cymbal also has significant food and beverage experience. He has co-created and owned over half a dozen of the hottest restaurants and clubs in Miami, including Sra. Martinez (with celebrity chef and James Beard award-winner, Michelle Bernstein), Bardot, and gigi.
Mr. Cymbal has been named by the South Florida Business Journal as a Heavy Hitter in Construction and Real Estate Development, a Top 100 Power Leader, and as one of 2013’s People to Watch. He has also appeared on the front page of the Wall Street Journal.
Mr. Cymbal is the Vice Chair and board member of Florida International University’s College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts - Miami Beach Urban Studios. He is also a board member of Wynwood Norte, the organization that is spearheading the revitalization of north Wynwood. Mr. Cymbal was a past board member of Business for the Arts of Broward.
Mr. Cymbal is a graduate of Vassar College and the UCLA School of Law. He is an experienced real estate and business attorney licensed to practice law in New York, New Jersey, and Washington D.C., and is a licensed general contractor in Florida.
Hector Torres
Mr. Torres has over 40 years of expertise in executing complicated construction and development projects. He has completed over 3.5 million square feet of ground-up, high-rise construction in South Florida. His project list includes residential buildings, hotels, retail, and office buildings.
His unique experience involving high-rise construction, insurance claim restoration, surety bonding, and representing institutional investors and developers, highlights his ability to mitigate risk. His completion as general contractor of the 500,000 gsf Oasis Pointe Residences within 14 months of groundbreaking, in the midst of the COVID Pandemic and global supply chain disruptions, further underscores his success at risk mitigation.
Mr. Torres’ business model provides the execution of ‘best in class' real estate with an emphasis on risk mitigation, building performance innovation, and aligning the interests of project stakeholders.
Mr. Torres has served as an expert witness, litigation consultant, builder, and developer. He has also lectured at the University of Miami Law School and the Harvard Graduate School of Design. In 2019, Mr. Torres’s expert testimony played a critical role in obtaining a $3.6 million verdict against a national insurance carrier for a hurricane claim in favor of a Miami condominium association.
Mr. Torres was born in New York City to Puerto Rican immigrants. Surrounded by NewYork City’s skyline and diverse architecture, Mr. Torres sought a career in construction. After graduating high school, Mr. Torres began his construction management career in NYC vocational union shops working in various trades. In 1992, the unions tapped Mr. Torres to go to Miami and to begin the reconstruction work left by the devastation of Hurricane Andrew. By 1999, Mr. Torres completed hundreds of major restoration projects on behalf of major insurance carriers such as Travelers, Bankers, Metropolitan, and other New York City carriers. In the decade that followed, Mr. Torres managed the construction of institutional developers and owners in the development and renaissance of Miami’s downtown.
Mr. Torres is a Harvard Graduate School of Design alumni, having graduated with honors from the Advanced Management Development Program in Real Estate. Mr.Torres is also a licensed general contractor, real estate appraiser, and is a property and casualty agent in the State of Florida. Hector also volunteers and is certified as a Guardian Ad Litem appointed by the Supreme Court of Florida.
Jorge was appointed Chief Operating Officer in July 2022. Jorge oversees all aspects of the Cymbal DLT Companies business, and he is a member of the Executive Leadership Team. Jorge brings more than 25 years of leadership experience to Cymbal DLT Companies. His experience includes leading overall efforts across all aspects of real estate development, design and construction for a variety of market sectors, including residential, commercial, retail, institutional, transportation, hospitality, and infrastructure, as well as bringing a vast knowledge of construction operations, corporate strategies, business development, marketing, and communications. Prior to joining Cymbal DLT, Jorge was the Executive Vice President and Regional Director for Plaza Construction, one of the largest construction companies in South Florida and New York, overseeing all aspects of the business in the Southeast Region. He was also part of the Executive Leadership Team leading all national efforts for corporate strategy and business development. His experience also includes working for Skanska USA, one of the largest construction companies with national and global presence, and The Haskell Company, a fully integrated AEC Design Builder with presence across the US, Latin America and Asia.
Lou Alvarez is a structural superintendent with over 30 years of construction experience. He is currently the lead superintendent in Cymbal DLT’s 341-unit Miami Gardens project. He has held various positions in the construction industry, including project engineer, contracts manager, quality control manager, rebar, concrete and post tension coordinator, concrete superintendent, and lead superintendent. Lou has been involved in many high-rise projects in South Florida, including One Miami, 50 Biscayne, Trump Towers in Sunny Isles, Icon Brickell, Murano Grande, Icon South Beach, Apogy South Beach, and The Ritz Carlton Residences. Lou enjoys the challenges that this profession brings and the sense of accomplishment that he feels once a project is completed. He also enjoys the people that he spends his days with and appreciates that it takes a team of very talented individuals to do what we do.
Dustin is a Financial Analyst where he focuses on supporting the firm’s capital markets initiatives and asset management decisions through underwriting and financial analysis. Prior to joining Cymbal DLT, Dustin had worked for operators in the Multifamily and Seniors Housing industry supporting various investment decisions including acquisitions, dispositions, and re-developments. He has also worked for a nationally recognized brokerage firm leading the investment sale underwriting for institutional, seniors housing properties. Dustin earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Western Kentucky University and is also a graduate of Ball State University where he earned his MBA.
Aracelly Correa is a project accountant for Cymbal DLT. She has worked in the construction industry in various roles for over 9 years while continuing her education. Her career in construction began at a shower door company in Coral Spring where she demonstrated her strong work ethic and leadership to grow within the accounting department. Later, Aracelly worked at Plaza Construction for four years and was able to gain great knowledge and experience from her colleagues. She was born and raised in South Florida to her mother who is a business owner and her father who is a Project Executive, which cultivated her love for accounting and construction. Aracelly has a BBA in Accounting and is currently pursuing a dual master’s degree in forensic accounting and data analytics at Florida Atlantic University
Vanessa has worked in the construction industry for over 18 years and her experience has been with ENR Top 400 firms. As Cymbal DLT’s Senior Controller Vanessa is responsible for, and has oversight of, all the company’s financial accounting functions including payables, receivables, quarterly financial reporting and audit/compliance matters. Vanessa oversees Cymbal DLT’s accounting team who have responsibility for the timeliness and accuracy of the financial reporting for the company and each of its projects. As a member of our Senior Leadership Team, Vanessa also helps develop company-wide priorities and address key strategic business challenges.
Eude has over ten years of experience in the fields of construction and engineering. He has been involved in pre-construction of high-rise and mid-rise buildings as an estimator, and as a pre-construction manager working closely with design professionals and real estate developers from the schematic phases of design to signing a GMP agreement. He has been involved in the negotiations of sub-contractor agreements and procuring of GMP agreements worth over $500 million throughout his career. Eude is currently leading the construction and procurement of Residence C and is assisting the team in the development and pre-construction of the projects in Cymbal DLT’s pipeline.
Tyler Flanzer is a Development Associate for Cymbal DLT, with an extensive background in construction management. Having worked for some of South Florida's prominent general contractors since 2018, he leverages his robust experience in project management to tackle development challenges of the highest level of complexity. His experience spans multiple different business sectors including restaurant, hospitality, multi-family, hardscape, and heavy civil work. Having graduated from Vanderbilt University with a degree in mechanical engineering, his distinctive analytical and solution oriented approach brings a fresh perspective to Cymbal DLT. Tyler emphasizes quality in all his dealings, adopting an attitude of, "Doing it right the first time, every time". With a commitment to precision and a passion for continuous improvement, Tyler Flanzer embodies the core values that drive Cymbal DLT's pursuit of cutting-edge solutions in the construction industry.
Diana Guede is the contracts administrator and executive assistant to the CEO. Diana has over 20 years of experience in the legal sector, working closely with attorneys. Later in her career, Diana transitioned into construction, which she very much enjoys. While at Plaza Construction Group, she worked on large projects including Paraiso Bayviews in Miami, and the Marriott Courtyard in Clearwater. Her eight-year tenure at Plaza Construction Group Florida helped her gain the knowledge and experience that is so valuable in the construction industry. Now at Cymbal DLT Companies, Diana is excited to consistently offer her knowledge and expertise on projects in the pipeline.
Loran has worked in construction for over 18 years, from managing large construction projects to coordinating the purchasing of construction materials and services. He understands what it takes to oversee the day-to-day activities of subcontractors and vendors to ensure successful project completion. A hands-on, problem-solving individual, he is highly respected within the construction community and has strong relationships with local building departments, city and county officials, inspectors, and public works officials. As MEP project manager, Loran is the liaison for the project team of architect, engineer, and subcontractors. He oversees all aspects of the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire alarm systems. During preconstruction, Loran consults on systems selection, analyzing life-cycle costs and working in a design-assist role with the mechanical subcontractor. During construction, he monitors field installation to ensure systems function as planned. Loran earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Florida International University and holds a Florida General Contractor License.
Yehonatan Ibgui is a Developer Associate who plays a pivotal role as a bridge between the construction and development teams. He coordinates between legal consultants, designers, contractors, municipal officials, and ownership to bring projects to fruition. Among his responsibilities are procurement, contract administration and bid solicitation. His expertise lies in managing multifamily residential and commercial projects. With previous experience as a project engineer for top South Florida contractors, Yehonatan brings valuable field knowledge and experience to his role. He holds a degree in Construction Management from the University of Florida.
Laura Martinez, a strong woman in construction, holds the esteemed position of Project Engineer at Cymbal DLT. Armed with a Civil Engineering degree from Universidad Central de Venezuela and an MBA from San Ignacio University in Miami. Having contributed her skills to various custom homes and restoration projects in Miami-Dade County, Laura's passion for her work shines through. Her unwavering dedication to innovation and sustainability sets her apart, making her a valuable asset to the construction industry.
Julianne Mangano, a first-generation college graduate from New Jersey, is making waves in the South Florida real estate industry. Recognized as the outstanding student of the Nova Southeastern University Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship Class of 2022, she accelerated her academic journey, completing her Bachelor's in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship in just three years. Julianne's passion for real estate led her to continue her educational journey with a Master's in Real Estate Development from Nova Southeastern University in August 2023. While completing her masters, Julianne interned with Cymbal DLT Companies Development Team; this unique experience allowed her to seamlessly integrate classroom insights with real-world experiences. Currently, she thrives as a Junior Developer Associate at Cymbal DLT Companies. Her commitment to excellence is further demonstrated through her active involvement with the Urban Land Institute Young Leaders Group, a strong network of young professionals and industry connections. At the dawn of her real estate career, Julianne Mangano is eager to learn, grow, and make a lasting impact in the industry.
A dedicated and detail-oriented accountant with over 8 years of experience managing the full accounting cycle, 5 of them working in Public Accounting directly with Construction and Real Estate companies. I graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, and I'm pursuing a master's degree in Accounting with a specialization in Taxation at Florida International University. Over the years, I've worked with a diverse range of clients, from small startups to large corporations, gaining expertise in financial analysis, tax planning, and audit preparation.
Ariel is a passionate Honduran accountant associate that is eager to get involve more in the construction industry. He has been working for over 7 years within the customer service and sales areas while pursuing his dream of becoming an accountant. He has been working with Cymbal Development Accounting department for several months now. He now has a bachelor degree in Finance and Accounting and is currently studying his master degree in Finance and Business Administration at a Business School in Europe.
Hernan, is a civil engineer and general contractor licensed in Florida with over 20 years of experience managing construction projects to successful completion. He is highly skilled in all phases of engineering operations and has specialized experience on budget estimating and projects administration. Hernan consistently finishes projects under budget and ahead of schedule. He oversees complex, multiphase, and high-profile engineering projects and is able to address financial constraints and complex logistics to overcome project challenges. He has extensive experience on residential, commercial, and civil construction projects for private, public and government entities. At the Oasis Pointe project, Hernan is a key team member, working diligently to build collaboration and enhance communication flow throughout the project team members, designers/builders, vendors, contractors, and subcontractors. He is always driven to work in the most ethical and truthful way.
Eduardo has over 18 years of experience in preconstruction and construction management. During that time, he has worked on several significant retail, commercial mixed-use, hospitality and multifamily developments. He has completed 3.1 million square feet of ground-up construction in South Florida and was part of the team for preconstruction and contract award for 3.8 million square feet of retail, mixed-use, hospitality, and multifamily projects. Eduardo is involved from inception on most of the projects he has completed. He actively manages all phases of preconstruction, construction, and project closeout. He prepares cost estimates and project schedules and coordinates subcontractor activities and field logistics plans. Eduardo also manages the subcontractors’ contracts process and final negotiations and is actively engaged on project safety and work quality. This experience, along with well-established subcontractor relationships make Eduardo a valued team member.
Diego was born in Caracas, Venezuela where he graduated from the Universidad Metropolitana with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and started his construction career constructing a ground-up mid-rise project. He moved to Miami in 2013, where his studies continued at Florida International University’s Construction Management Program. Diego has over 11 years of expertise in construction across multiple project types, including high-rise, mid-rise, hospitality, and insurance claim restoration projects in South Florida. As a project manager, he has a broad range of responsibilities and is involved in all phases of construction. He is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of all trade activities, including material delivery, safety, schedule adherence, quality control, and assurance. He directs construction-related personnel in the planning, coordination, and execution of work on time within budget, while attaining or exceeding goals.
Elsi, a native of South Florida, boasts an extensive background of over 15 years in diverse administrative positions, demonstrating her expertise in office management. She successfully obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Degree from Florida International University, equipping her with a solid foundation of knowledge. Additionally, Elsi holds a Florida Real Estate License, further enhancing her skill set and adding valuable insights to her administrative capabilities.
David is the Developer Manager at Cymbal DLT. His core focus is on managing all aspects of the development process. He also leads acquisitions for the company’s growing pipeline. During the course of all projects, he monitors and enhances government relations with all regulators and public officials to ensure the project has a positive impact towards the communities' goals. Prior to joining Cymbal DLT, David was with a boutique real estate investment bank where he specialized in complex construction financing and ground lease structuring. He began his real estate career with Royal Palm Companies, a Miami-based real estate developer, as a project manager for projects in Puerto Rico and the Miami World Center. David holds an MBA from the University of Miami with an emphasis in real estate finance and investments. He graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in finance.
Christian Uriarte is a real estate finance and investment professional with experience in lending, structured finance and equity placement. Mr. Uriarte has closed over $1.5 billion in debt and equity transactions for an array of situations, including acquisitions, asset-repositioning, partner recapitalizations, development projects and special situations. Christian is currently the Managing Principal of Torus Capital Group (“TCG”), a boutique commercial real estate capital markets and investment advisory firm focused in providing multi-tranche capital solutions across all property types nationally, and in select international markets. TCG caters to a variety of Sponsors, including private equity investors, real estate operators, developers and select emerging managers. Christian experience in underwriting, structuring, loan syndication, market-mapping and transaction execution, enables him to construct and execute the most optimal capital plans available in the debt and equity capital markets. In addition to TCG’s capital markets business, the firm also makes principal investments with Sponsor targeting emerging or niche real estate plays, such as, data centers, robotic warehouses & self-storages, real estate cannabis, and co-living and short term plays. Ron has worked in construction in South Florida since 1995. He began building single family homes, then moved into commercial construction. Commercial construction was a natural transition for him and his career path. Ron loves challenges, and fits right into this field as a commercial superintendent. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Ron learned a lot from his two grandfathers from a very young age. One was a master plumber, and the other was a custom furniture maker and master carpenter. He also learned a lot from his father while rebuilding the 120-year-old house where he grew up. Since launching his professional construction career when he moved to South Florida in 1995, Ron has worked hands-on in just about every trade. He is extremely mechanically inclined, which helps with his hobbies, which include restoring old cars, motorcycles, and anything with an engine or wheels.
Ben is a dedicated and passionate force on the Cymbal team who serves as a versatile asset to our company. Born and raised in Miami, Ben brings a unique perspective and enthusiasm for real estate to our organization. In this pivotal role, Ben is exposed to a wide array of facets within the business and industry, lending his valuable insight and determination to our endeavors. Having recently graduated from The University of Texas at Austin, Ben holds degrees in Urban Studies, as well as in Business & Entrepreneurship. This comprehensive education has equipped Ben with an extensive understanding of the dynamics that drive the real estate market, from urban planning to innovative business strategies.
